Parent Alienation

Parental Alienation is the often subtle process whereby the custodial parent uses their time with the child to undermine the relationship of of their child with the non-custodial parent. Can be part of an overall Malicious Parent Syndrome

Usually this alienation will be presented as the desire of the child. You can expect to hear statements like “After all, what can anyone do if a child doesn’t want to see their father”.

  • It isn’t normal for a child not want to see their father for months at a time
  • Although peers do play a part in influencing a child, the primary home is still hugely important, even for a teenager.
